Austin’s Story

Austin has been a shining star ever since the day he first attended Drama Tots at 3 days old with his big brother! He is starting school this September, how exciting! This means he will be graduating form Drama Tots in the summer. We will miss him so much and we can’t wait to see him at our holiday sessions with his little sister.

Take a look what Austin’s mummy said about his experience with Drama Tots:

Baby Austin and his big brother!

How long has austin been coming to Drama Tots?

Since he was 3 days old! He came with his older brother until he finally got his own class at 18 months.

What does Austin enjoy most about Drama Tots classes?

The laughing. He loves the silly bits when Leanne does something ‘wrong’, as well as any excuse to make funny faces and strike poses!

Does Austin have a favourite song or activity?

Bean bag/scarf throwing. He’s getting pretty good at throwing a beanbag into a hoop from pretty far away! The ‘look what my body can do’ song is always a winner as he loves how active it is. He also loves any excuse to dress up!

Has Drama Tots benefited Austin?

I have seen so many benefits. Creativity and imaginative play development. Listening, learning and following instructions. Learning about events such as Chinese New Year (one of his favourite stories). He’s also learned to be a bit silly and give things a try, not worrying about whether he can do it perfectly or not.

Do you enjoy participating in Drama Tots classes alongside Austin?

I love that I get to do it with him, it’s the only class I’m aware of that doesn’t become ‘independent’ from approx age 3. It’s fun, and he’s free to express himself however he wishes. Also I feel free to be silly with him! Added bonus is that he sits with me and I get cuddles every time he comes back to the mat!

Does Austin talk about Drama Tots between sessions?

Yes, a lot! He remembers past adventures & wonders what might be next. As well as what costume he could possibly wear! He frequently asks to ‘do Drama Tots on the TV’ too.

Tell us about the atmosphere in class.

Very positive. Everyone is friendly and ensures each child can enjoy the class however they wish to. Leanne always greets each child as they enter and they feel special.

Leanne and Austin.

What qualities does your Drama Tots teacher bring to class?

Leanne is captivating to both adults and children. She is fun, friendly, expressive and commands the room perfectly. She’s everything anyone could possibly want from a class leader.
